Known for their playful, dachshund-like silhouette, Munchkins are short in height but long on personality. Ours leave for their new homes confident, litter-trained, and ready to become part of your family.

About the Munchkin breed

The Munchkin’s signature short legs come from a natural genetic mutation, first documented decades ago and established as a breed in the 1980s. The breed was presented to the public at a TICA show in 1991 and reached TICA championship status in 2003. Their body size is otherwise average — Munchkins are a normal-sized cat on short legs, not a “kitten-sized” cat forever.

Males typically weigh about 6–9 lb and females about 4–8 lb. They come in every color and pattern, in both short-hair and long-hair coats. Curious, sociable, and quick, they’re famous for sitting up like a rabbit to survey the room — and for stashing small shiny objects like tiny magpies.
